Maletsunyane Braai Festival is the biggest braai festival in Lesotho. It is an annual event taking place on the last weekend of November. It takes place against the backdrop of the breath-taking Maletsunyane Falls in Semonkong which is about 115km from the capital City-Maseru. The fall has been certified by the Guinness World Records as the longest commercially operated single-drop abseil in the world. Maletsunyane Falls has been listed as one of the 50 most beautiful places to visit in Africa.

MOSHOSHOE WALK 200 YEARS BICENTENNIAL 1824-2024

The Moshoeshoe Walk is a historical walk founded in 2007. The three-day journey of approximately 116km aims to re-kindle the spirit of unity among Basotho as it is embodied in the legacy left by the founder King Moshoeshoe I. The historic walk starts from Menkhoaneng in the Leribe district and ends in Thaba Bosiu in the Maseru District, and has been hailed by Their Majesties King Letsie Ill and Queen Masenate Mohato Seeiso as a successful historic and international milestone for Basotho as it attracts over 700 local and international participants collectively.

We are at your service for Half-day Sani Pass Tours and Multiple Sani Pass Tours
Departure at 08H30 from Guest Lodge and travel through the World Heritage Site of the Ukhahlamba Drakensberg Park, with regular stops, following the Mkomazana River up the scenic Sani Valley to the South African Border Post (border formalities). We continue up the Sani Pass, which was built by David Alexander between 1948 and 1954 viewing the Hodgson’s Peaks and the Giants Cup. Climbing to an altitude of 2.874m and zigzag upwards beneath towering cliffs, buttresses, past waterfalls and unique flora and bird life. After having completed the border formalities at Lesotho Border we visit the village to learn more about the Basotho culture. We get invited into a Basotho Hut, tasting of Basotho Home-Made Bread and Traditional beer. The guests get to interact with Basotho People.

Maseru City Tour-Lesotho

Pickup at Kick4Life Hotel at 09H00 and do a city tour of Maseru, visiting the local information centre ,which displays curious and tapestry making .Then viewing of the new and old Parliament building ,with a stop at the Post office to buy Lesotho stamps. Proceed to Morija, the oldest town in Lesotho have been founded in 1833 by pioneer French Protestant missionaries), visit Morija Museum with its collection of Bushmen Art, Dinosaurs Footprints, Books, Clay Pots, Fossils, old tools used by various tribes and explanations. The Moeder Craft Center is housed in the oldest building in Morija, 1843, where one may purchase a variety of tapestry, Mohair shoals, and souvenirs etc, Proceed via Matsieng, King Palace, we will get a Basotho guide to take us up to the view point of the palace and he will explain everything, we are not allowed to enter inside (strictly no photos at King’s palace). The landscaped grounds sit on a small hillside, surrounded by high, concertina wired fence with guards. Lunch will be enjoyed at local Morija restaurant. Morija Museum and Archives After Morija Museum we proceed to Thaba Bosiu. After lunch a guide will take us on tour and explain the history of the 1st Chief Moshoeshoe and how he was able to conquer the Zulu King Shakas warriors. Well then be taken to a demonstration village and from a distance see the famous mountain-Thaba Bosiu. Day 1: Meals-own cost! (depending on flight arrival).

Departure from Maseru airport and visit Thaba Bosiu – Moshoeshoe’s strong hold, that was never taken, and this is a very important historical site. On top of the flat –topped hill are remains of the king’s dwellings with 230 royal graves. The Basotho guide will lead us and give all the explanations, people should be prepared to walk. The Thaba Bosiu village is not finished yet, but people could view it as well. Lunch at restaurant.

Day 2: Breakfast!

After breakfast you go for Abseiling training and prepare yourself for the next day to abseil at Maletsunyane Falls! The training is done the half Day at the lodge, of 25 meter drop. Until you're confident of attempting the 204 meter single drop! Lunch at restaurant, then do either a hike or Pony ride to view the 204 meters Maletsunyane waterfall, for the next day’s abseil.

Depart after breakfast via Roma. Roma is the principal centre of the Roman Catholic Church in Lesotho and since 1964 the site of the National University of Lesotho. The city was found in 1862 when King Moshoeshoe granted the site to Bishop Allard and Father Gerard. Dinner at the Guesthouse. Panoramic views to the valley with farmlands. The grassland around is dotted with the yellow flowers of Euryops, the white Arum Lilies, the bright red and yellow colours of the Red-Hot Pokers and plenty of other wild flowers. Explore the 7 Faculties found at The National University of Lesotho and explore more on administration office, student affairs office as well as exploring the student residents and mainly where King Letsie III resided during his days at The University.

Day 1: Maseru Fishing

Depart Maseru or Moshoehoe1 airport and be transferred to the Lodge. Fishing in Lesotho is a heavenly experience offering plenty of excitement for the angler. Fishing in Lesotho can be undertaken at numerous sites like its rivers and waterfalls which contain plenty of fish native to the region. The main seasons for fishing in Lesotho run from September to the end of May. Some of the indigenous fish that are caught are likely to be barbal which is found in the lowland rivers and the Maloti minnow in Tsoelikana. In the highlands the tourist can catch yellow-lands which are pretty common in the Lesotho Tour.

3Nights/4Days Extreme Fly-Fishing Trek- Lesotho

Extreme Fly-fishing Trek is a tough trek, and a certain level of fitness is required. The following morning, we will drive you out to the top of the gorge, where you will meet up with the packhorses and guides, load gear and hike to the bottom of the gorge. While our team set up camp, you can start fishing. You will spend 3 nights out camping, with two nights at the lodge. We can arrange a 2 night out 3 day fishing trek too. The itinerary is subject to changes, as the Guides decide on the best fishing spots, according to the river level. All this will be discussed with you. The catering would include packed lunches, such as sandwiches, savoury biscuits and cheese, energy balls, dried wors, trail mixes etc and dinners would be either a braai or stew or bolognaise, and breakfast is usually rusks or banana bread, cereals, fruit, tea and coffee. With the fishing trek, there are two options, catered or self-catering. Kindly let us know which option you would prefer for the fishing trek.


Option 1 you will be given cost per day, including the return day, this includes the daily fly-fishing licenses, and is fully catered. Excluded are all drinks. We provide all the camping equipment; however, you must bring your own sleeping bags, bedding rolls, towels and fishing rods/equipment.


Option 2 includes the same as option one, but is self-catering, and you will be given cost per person per day, including the return day. The lodge will still provide all the camping equipment, cooking and eating utensils.

Pick up at Maseru or airport at 08H30 and drive through the scenic towns of Lesotho. Thereafter we travel on tar road to Roma and we climb steadily to the top of the Nkesi’s Pass (2.010m), from where a superb view of the 3.096m, Thaba Putswa Range can be seen. Just before Roma. The road loses altitude and we drive through spectacular white sandstone rocks and valleys. Nearby the Thaba Telle mountain (2.530m), which is climbed by mountaineers and it is told it is not an easy one. Packed lunch en route. Proteas along the road, proceed to viewing of the 12 Apostles. These geological structures are the oldest mountain ranges in the world. Our Guide is taking care of the border formalities. At the summit at 2.874 m we have reached our accommodation. Enjoy a superb view down to the Sani Valley. Dinner at the restaurant.

Day 2: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner (54km)

After breakfast at 08:30 we proceed to the Basotho village and the Basotho culture will be explained. Ascending the Black Mountain Pass up to 3.280 m, following the Senqu River. Nearby the highest mountain in Southern Africa, Thabana Ntlenyana with 3.482 m. Packed lunch en route. We travel via the St. James Mission to our self-catering accommodation with fully equipped kitchen. Communal bathroom. Dinner at the guesthouse.

Day 3: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner (87 km) +- 50% up hill, +- 50% down hill (back up vehicle for balance of 37 km) After breakfast at the guesthouse, departure at 08:00 on dirt road towards Mashai. Watch the majestic Cape Vultures in flight and beautiful butterflies in summer. Ascend the Linakaneng Pass at 3.030 m on a single track for about 4 km. and down again into the valley on dirt road. We cycle through the beautiful country side of Lesotho, dotted with wild flowers in summer time. Picnic lunch en route. Arrive at the self-catering lodge (fully equipped kitchen) and enjoy the sunset while relaxing on the swing-chair.

Day 4: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner (79 km)

After breakfast at 07:30 we proceed on dirt road which is very rugged. It provides an exciting experience. At the Sehonghong River a new bridge is built. There we have a refreshment stop and a gallery of Rock Art may be seen. The pass is twisting parallel to the river. There are numerous single tracks, which run between 2 – 5 km. Picnic lunch en-route. The very scenic but rough road leads us deeper into the Matebeng Valley. Bushmen Paintings may be seen a few kilometres along the road. We ascend the mountain pass, topping 2.040 m, which is again a rough and adventurous track. Climbing up the Somalenk Mountain , this is the a cut of time, we will load the bikes onto the vehicle and travel to the summit. Off load the bicycles and ride descending this mountain pass is much easier as it has been improved. Dinner at the lodge. Fully equipped kitchen. Communal bathroom.

Day 5: Breakfast (73 km)

Leave the lodge after breakfast through the National Park to the edge of the escarpment, accompanied by a Basotho Ranger on horse back. This area is not accessible by vehicles. Our back-up vehicle has to drive around and meet cyclist at the Bushmen’s Nek Border Post. From the border post we proceed 35 km on dirt road to a junction. Thereafter we turn onto the tar road and cycle another 10 km to Underberg/Himeville (1.560m).

Day 2: After breakfast at the guesthouse departure on dirt road towards Mashai. Watch the majestic Cape Vultures in flight and beautiful butterflies in summer. Ascend the Linakaneng Pass at 3.030m and down again into the valley. Refreshment stop at a local shebeen (pub). Picnic lunch en route before we proceed to the last few kilometres to our destination. Arrive at the self-catering lodge (fully equipped kitchen) and enjoy the sunset while relaxing on the swing chair. Communal bathroom.

Day 3: B, L, D After a late breakfast we proceed on a dirt road which is only usable by 4x4 vehicles. It is an exciting experience. At the Sehonghong River we have a refreshment stop and Bushmen Paintings may be seen. The pass becomes very rugged, twisting parallel to the river. The Chief and his wife will welcome us at the village. Enjoy chatting and interacting with these friendly people, living in beautiful decorated huts. Picnic lunch en route. The very scenic but rough road leads us deeper into the Matebeng Valley.


Overnight: At Lodge


Day 4: After a good breakfast we depart for the National park, stopping on the waterfall for lunch. Visit the Sehlabathebe Wilderness area and with a little luck we can see Rehbuck, Elands, Baboons and Jackals. There are numerous Rock Art Paintings at the National Park. Travel through awesome country site and arrive back at the lodge in the afternoon. Dinner at the lodge.

Day 5: After breakfast we depart for Underberg, leaving Lesotho through the Ramatsaliso Border Post. Picnic lunch en route. Enjoy traveling through pictures farmland of East Griqualand with traditional decorated huts. Arrival at the hotel in the afternoon. Dinner at the restaurant.

Day 6: Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning we visit the Himeville Museum with its collection of local history, nature and culture. Proceed to Lotheni to meet the local Sangoma (traditional healer). The work of the Sangoma and the Zulu culture will be explained. Picnic lunch at one of the view points. The afternoon is at leisure. Dinner at the hotel.

Day 7:

Departure at 08:00 and transfer to Bushmen’s Nek where we pack our horses. Today is a very scenic ride, climbing up to 2.500m. At some areas riders have to lead their horses, but generally fair riding. Picnic lunch en route. Dinner around a log fire at the lodge.

Day 8:

After breakfast we ride into the Sehlabathebe Wilderness area, stopping for picnic lunch at the waterfall. This area is not permitted for 4x4 vehicles. We will be back at the lodge in the afternoon for tea and coffee. Dinner at the lodge.

Day 1: Lunch & Dinner

Pick up clients at Maseru International Airport. Depending on arrival time, visit of the tourist centre in Maseru “The Hat”. Travel to Morija and visit the museum and art centre. Wit a little luck guests may have a glimpse of the King’s Palace in Matsieng (discretion of the security). The afternoon is at leisure. Optional horse riding, cultural village and other activities at own expense.

Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner After breakfast at the lodge we continue traveling north, scenic drive through bushy landscape, small forests and farmland dotted with picturesque villages. Along the road dense bushes and shrubs used by locals for medical purposes, e.g. the “Wild ALS Bush” is a remedy for Asthma and Flu or the “Chi/Chi Bush” (Old Wood) for stomach problems. Basalt stone with hardened volcanic bubbles. descend the pass to a view point at 1.860m to look down to the awesome valley. Picnic Lunch on route. Drive to Roma, which is the principal centre of the Roman Catholic Church in Lesotho and since 1964 the site of the National University of Lesotho. The city was found in 1862 when King Moshoeshoe granted the site to Bishop Allard and Father Gerard. Today our journey takes us down into the valley, but the windy road climbs again to an altitude of 2.620m, the Blue Mountain Pass. Named after the 2.900m high Thaba Putswa (Blue Mountain), which dominates the range in the north. The pass descends steeply into the Likalaneng Valley. Leaving the dam area our Guide will check out at the security post. Picnic lunch on route. We ascend the pass on dirt road, dotted with low shrubs and wild flowers, inclusive the Red-Hot Pokers. A long, curving road into the valley of the Senqunyane River. We pass the Trading Store and Police Post of Marakabei, named after a Chief in this area. The road crosses the Senqunyane River, also known as the Little Orange River, is one of the principal upper tributaries of the Orange River. We climb steeply to the summit of the Tshetshe Pass, 2.560m. Immediately it descends into the Mantsonyane River Valley (small black river). Driving higher up the mountains with its dark basalt stone, covered in snow in winter. Awesome views, lonely herd-boys on the mountain slopes; the gentle sound of their “Lesibas” floating on the wind. Arrival at Katse Dam, tour of the dam.


Day 3:

Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner After breakfast at the lodge, departure on dirt road towards Mashai. Watch the majestic Cape Vultures in flight and beautiful butterflies in summer. Thaba Tseka (meaning “the mountain with blaze”) houses a stud farm for breeding Basotho Ponies and a tree nursery. Cross the Koma-Koma Bridge, which is flooded when the sluice gates of the Katse Dam are opened. Refreshment stop and picnic at the shabeen (pub) at Taung village. Travel the windy road, along the sides, rocky mountains and hills, patches of maize fields where Basotho’s work on their land with loving care. Arrival at the self-catering lodge in the afternoon. Enjoy the sunset while relaxing on the swing-chair, facing west towards the setting sun. Dinner: self-catering in fully equipped kitchen. (Communal bathroom)

Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner After a late breakfast we proceed on dirt road, which is only usable by 4x4 vehicles. It provides a majestic and exciting experience. An area of wide open spaces, rolling plains, numerous mountains and crystal clear streams. A place of trout fishing, bike riding, 4x4 Adventures and a whole lot more. Drive through the rolling hills of maize- and potato fields, grassland with cattle, sheep and White Storks and Pine Forests. We follow the tar road to Underberg.

Pick up from Maseru Capital City of Lesotho to the destinated caves located in Berea Lesotho (one of the districts found in Lesotho) The Tour will therefore continue to Thaba Bosiu Cultural Village where the guests will be briefed on Lesotho Culture and History and Visit the Kome Dwellings and Caves. Apart from that, the Tour will navigate into Maletsunyane Falls and is about 204 meters, what a beautiful place for Tourists. Half Day Mohale Dam Tour-Lesotho


MOHALE DAM-5

Mohale is a rock-fill dam in Lesotho. It is part of the Lesotho Highland Water Project, which will eventually include 5 large dams in remote rural areas of Lesotho and South Africa. The potential of the project was identified by the South African civil engineer Ninham Shand (now Aurecon) as a possible means to supplement the water supply to South Africa. The World Bank arranged for a treaty between the then-Apartheid government of South Africa and its much smaller neighbour, Lesotho, allowing execution of the project to proceed. 3x course meal at Mohale Dam Lodge, we will do a guided tour of Mohale Dam.

We explore Katse Dam Pass few missions and several rock shelters, the main road passes the Leribe Farmers Training Center to the town of Hlotse. It is the administration centre of the Leribe district and originated in 1876 when a Mission outpost was established here. Picnic lunch on route. Continue on the Nelson Mandela Road, crossing the Malibamatso River (River of dark Pools) where the great Katse Dam has been constructed from 1991-1997. Our Guide is taking care of the security checkpoint. The Katse Dam is the one of the largest dams in the world and supplies water to Witwatersrand (Gauteng, Soweto), Farming, Mining in South Africa and irrigates the lowlands in Lesotho.

1Night/2Days Ha Baroana Rock Paintings Tour-Lesotho

SAN ROCK ART=ECHO CAVES


Day 1:

Pickup at Maseru airport at 10H30 Visit Ha Baroana rock art cave. Ha Baroana rock paintings is one of Lesotho’s most important rock art site located on a hillside underneath a rock shelter facing Liphiring River. Depart Ha Baroana and have lunch in Maseru, after lunch visit the craft centre and weaving of Tapetries.

Day 2: All meals-own cost!

After breakfast visit for Ha Kome Caves situated near Teya-Teyaneng .At Ha Kome there is a remarkable village where cave dwellings have been carved out under towering rocks. The families still living there today are descendants of the original people who “built” the caves in the 19th century and the site is now a National Heritage Site. The people living there now still live much as their forefathers did almost two centuries ago and those who have occupied the caves over the years have left a rich cultural history. Gruesomely, this area was once home to cannibals and past generations of Basotho fled to the caves to hide from them. Parking at the top of the hill allows you to walk for about 20 minutes to reach the Ha Kome visitors Centre where we will be given a guided tour of the caves and told something of the history and culture of the people. Proceed to Thaba Bosiu ,lunch on arrival. After lunch a guide will take us on tour and explain the history of the 1st Chief Moshoeshoe and how he was able to conquer the Zulu King Shaka's warriors. Well then be taken to a demonstration village and from a distance see the famous mountain-Thaba Bosiu. Thaba Bosiu Demonstration Village Chief Moshoehoe 1-Grave Site

Depart for Maseru airport by 14H30.
